The Trump-Harris Debate: A National Tragedy of Media Manipulation

The Trump-Harris debate wasn’t just a political discussion—it was a national tragedy orchestrated by ABC employees masquerading as journalists. What should have been a fair debate quickly spiraled into a platform for propaganda, where lies were spun and fact-checks were fabricated to deceive 57 million Americans. If you were watching, you witnessed firsthand how media bias can transform a debate into a sham, where one candidate was shielded from the truth while the other was relentlessly attacked. This isn’t just media bias—it’s election interference, pure and simple.

The Lies, The Silence, and The Fact-Check Debacle

Kamala Harris stood on that stage, confident not only because of her preparation but because she knew the moderators had her back. They did. Harris rolled out lie after lie—about immigration, fracking, military casualties, defunding the police, late-term abortions, and so much more. A staggering list of at least twelve lies went unchecked. From accusing Trump of banning in-vitro fertilization (a ridiculous falsehood) to her audacious claim that no states allow post-birth abortions (which Tim Walz helped legalize), her statements weren’t challenged even once by the moderators.

Yet Trump? Every word out of his mouth was picked apart by the supposed "fact-checkers" on stage. The moderators jumped in immediately when Trump accused Harris of supporting late-term and post-birth abortions. Linsey Davis, live on air, claimed that "no states allow this," selling this lie to millions of viewers. What she conveniently omitted was the truth—Walz, Harris’s running mate, signed a 2023 bill in Minnesota that allows the post-birth killing of infants who survive botched abortions. They knew the truth. They knew it, and yet they let the lie fester.

How is this not propaganda? How is this not collusion?

When Moderators Become Participants in the Debate

The purpose of moderators is to guide, not to participate. But last night, the lines were blurred beyond recognition. Trump wasn’t just debating Harris—he was debating a trio of adversaries, as the moderators themselves inserted their bias into the discussion. It wasn’t a debate of two candidates, but three against one. Each time Trump tried to expose the real issues—whether it was Harris’s record of bailing out violent protesters, or her stance on gun confiscation—the moderators were ready to shield her with prepackaged narratives.

They weren’t just checking Trump; they were silencing the truth. This isn’t about Trump’s less-than-stellar performance, or his occasional missteps (though, to be fair, he did veer off-topic a few times). This is about an orchestrated campaign to protect Kamala Harris while perpetuating lies about Donald Trump.

The Three-Way Debate: When Moderators and Media Moguls Join the Fight Against Trump

Not only did ABC News’s presidential debate moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, seem to be doing Kamala Harris’s bidding, but Disney Co-Chairman Dana Walden’s influence couldn’t be ignored either (after all, ABC is a division of Walt Disney). Walden’s personal relationship with Harris was glaring. It felt like Walden herself was pulling the strings behind the scenes, as many, including Megyn Kelly, have credited her with setting up Harris’s marriage to second gentleman Doug Emhoff. Emhoff has known Walden’s husband, Matt Walden, for decades. It truly was three against one. And let’s not forget Trump’s major defamation lawsuit against ABC’s George Stephanopoulos filed earlier this year—did that play into the bias? Nah, they wouldn’t be that petty, would they?

Historical Parallels: A Warning from the Past

It's dangerous to invoke history carelessly, but sometimes the comparisons are undeniable. The use of media to manipulate public opinion is as old as propaganda itself. In the 1930s, Nazi Germany perfected this art, using radio and print to paint a distorted picture of reality. The propaganda wasn't designed merely to inform; it was designed to control.

Hitler himself created the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda to control what Germans saw and believed. His regime used sophisticated advertising techniques to rally support for his cause, ultimately leading to persecution, genocide, and a war that devastated Europe. It’s chilling to recognize that modern media today, like those moderators, can manipulate reality in much the same way. They manufacture consensus by perpetuating falsehoods while silencing the truth.

Before you dismiss this comparison, ask yourself: Are we seeing similar manipulation today? When moderators blatantly push falsehoods and call them “fact checks,” when the media acts as a propaganda machine for one party, we should all be alarmed. What’s at stake here isn’t just an election but the integrity of the entire democratic process.

The truth matters. Our democracy depends on it. The moderators last night weren’t just biased—they were active participants in a charade designed to deceive the public. The lies Harris told on that stage weren’t just the lies of a candidate—they were amplified by those who should have been holding her accountable. These moderators need to be held to account, and there should be serious repercussions for the role they played in corrupting a national debate.

If this doesn’t wake us up as a nation, if we don’t stand up for the truth and demand accountability, we’re on a dangerous path. The manipulation we saw in that debate is the same manipulation that has been used by regimes throughout history to erode freedom and democracy. As uncomfortable as it may be to say, the parallels to the propaganda machine of Nazi Germany should not be ignored.

We must reject the lies. We must demand that our media return to honest journalism. And we must hold those accountable who have corrupted one of the most sacred pillars of our republic—the right to an informed electorate. This isn’t about political party. It’s about truth, and if we don’t start valuing it again, the consequences could be devastating. Do your homework. If you don't do it for yourself, at least do it for your children and grandchildren. What’s at stake is far more than one debate—it’s the future of our country.
