Kamala’s Smoke and Mirrors Border Bill Argument: $94 Billion Reasons Why We Aren’t Fooled

Writer's picture: The ElephantThe Elephant

In the latest episode of Harris-Walz Presents: Fabricating America, we’re treated to another masterclass in misleading the American public. The dynamic duo is hard at work claiming that Donald Trump is single-handedly responsible for tanking a border bill that they swear up and down had "bipartisan support." But don’t worry, the media’s here to help Kamala push her narrative, as always, with the precision of a magician waving a wand and saying, "Look over here, not there!"

THE LIE: Kamala HQ and friends want you to believe that Trump maliciously killed a border bill that was totally about border security.

THE TRUTH: The bill had more baggage than an over-packed suitcase on a guilt-trip to Europe. Yes, the “border bill” was laced with billions of dollars for everything but border security. It's almost like calling a bill to fund a Disneyland expansion a "national defense strategy." Trump didn’t need a border bill to secure the border — remember those actual border walls? Nope, Kamala's team is just trying to play the blame game.

But just to clarify: if anyone "killed" the bill, it wasn't Trump, but the elected officials who saw the fine print and said, "Wait a minute, what about our borders?"

Let’s take a quick look at the “border security” priorities Harris & Co. had in mind:

$60.06 billion to support Ukraine's fight against Russia. Hey, if Russia invades Arizona, we’re prepared!

$14.1 billion to assist Israel. Because nothing says “protect America’s borders” quite like international foreign aid.

$2.44 billion to address unrest in the Red Sea. Yes, you read that right. The Red Sea, which is only about 7,000 miles from Texas.

$10 billion for humanitarian assistance in Gaza, Ukraine, and other conflict zones. Apparently, building shelters in war-torn regions worldwide somehow fortifies the U.S.-Mexico border. Maybe they’re planning a direct tunnel?

$4.83 billion to deter Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific. Because the real threat to America’s borders must be in the Pacific Ocean, obviously.

$2.33 billion for Ukrainian refugees. Don’t worry, folks! No funds left for the American homeless, but plenty for displaced Ukrainians.

$400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Nothing wrong with protecting places of worship, but last we checked, it wasn’t part of a border bill.

Grand Total: $94.46 billion in “border security” spending, minus any actual borders being secured.

So let’s get this straight: out of a supposed border bill, less than a third of the funds actually relate to, well, borders. And the rest? It’s a tour of international diplomacy with your tax dollars footing the bill. All aboard the Kamala Express!

Let’s break it down:

Donald Trump, once again, is being painted as the bad guy. But don’t get it twisted: it wasn’t Trump who killed the bill. It was the $94.46 billion in global payouts that made even Congress say, “Wait, how much are we giving Ukraine?” It’s almost as if Harris HQ thinks border security is code for global security, and America’s borders are just an afterthought.

Punchline: Kamala, here’s some friendly advice: If you want to actually secure our borders, maybe spend the money on our borders. No need to send it on a world tour like a political rock band trying to cover their greatest hits. Americans are paying attention. We see the $94 billion elephant in the room — and no, it’s not at the border.

Closing Thought: So next time Harris & Co. try to sell us another “border security” scheme, let’s all remember: there's 94 billion reasons they don’t want you to read the fine print.
